自分が自分じゃなくなる
人間の細胞はどんどん変わる。私は数年前の私とまったく違う細胞だと聞く。すなわち私は私でない。のだが、私は私なはずである。脳の記憶などから勘案すると。
まあ、寝たら新しい人間に毎回変わっているかもしれないがそれを肯定することも否定することも出来ない。出来ないと言うか、わからない。
で、さっきエントリーした情熱大陸での角田光代さんの行動をみてふと不思議に思った。
彼女は最近の直木賞をとった作品のアイディアノートを見せるのは恥ずかしいと言った。しかし、幼稚園の頃の作文は躊躇することなく見せた。別に、どってことないことかもしれないが、不思議におもってしまったのだ。
過去の自分は自分じゃなくなっているのだろうか。と思ったのだ。
作文と言う完成品と、アイデアノートという未完成品という大きな違いがあって、そこが躊躇したかしないかの最大のポイントである可能性は、ちょっと横に置いておいて考える。
どちらも自分が生み出したものである。大きく異なるのは書いた時期なのである。30年ぐらい前のものは躊躇せず見せた。しかし、この1年ぐらいに書いたアイデアノートは躊躇した。
アイデアノートは自分なのである。だから、自分が見られるのは恥ずかしいから躊躇した。しかし、30年前の作文は自分じゃないのである。自分が生み出したものであるが、自分の中に明確な記憶がないので、連続した自分ではない。明確に今の自分と30年前の自分は断絶されている。さらに、記憶にあるないという次元を超えて、過去の自分は今の自分とは関連性がない(非常に薄い)ものだという意識を持っている。いつの間にか持ってしまった。それが、どのくらいの期間で、そういう意識を持つかはその時々だろう。まあ、いずれにしろ、意識の中で過去の自分は自分ではなくなったので恥ずかしくないのではないかな。と思った。
何らかの理由でリアリティがなくなった時点で、自分じゃなくなっている。大雑把に言えば時間がそうさせたんですよ。理由は記憶かもしれないし、その時の脳細胞が全て変わったのかもしれないし、なんかは知らないが。
